We talked last night about Jesus as our high priest, and all that it implies. How is this working in and through us? What do you think about Jesus representing us to God, and God to us? This truth won't leave us the same, how is it changing you today?

It never really dawned on me that Jesus represents thing two ways, us to God and God to us. This makes the idea of high priest, and Jesus as the great high priest so much more beautiful. Not only does He advocate for us, but brings God/His very self, to us in community & relationship. Any time I've ever tempted to feel like God is distant, this now reminds me that there is no such thing. Jesus is relentless. How can I not be relentless in serving Him?
This idea of God completing a covenant through the resurrection of his son is becoming more and more incredible to me as I continue to roll the thought through my head. I am realizing that this means that I am really missing out if I look at the opportunity He now provides me and just pass it by. We are told that we can approach the throne with confidence. This is something that I am sure would have sounded insane before this covenant. Thinking about what it must have been like to go before the throne of God in those days just sounds terrifying. Although I have all sorts things in my life that should make me terrified to approach the throne of God, I can come before this God that still holds the same amount of power that he did in those days.
Today the idea dawned on me that if Jesus is our high priest, this means that he is capable of bringing me before the throne of God. He is able to carry me there raw and dirty, tired and feeling beaten, sinful and yet covered in his righteousness. What an amazing concept.
This God we worship is simply beyond my understanding. He is so good and he is constantly moving. He engages in relationship with us and he invites us to come before him covered in his grace. whoa
